The 2010 Lexus RX 350 is the latest redesign of the best selling Lexus RX 300 and is one of the best midsized luxury SUV. For 2010, Lexus has redesigned its RX 350 crossover making RX the third generation SUV.

Lexus has added a few new elements making the car more powerful, more soundproof, improved handling and more fuel economic. Performance wise RX 350 gives a very smooth ride, powerful engine, and excellent fuel economy. The engine is 3.5 liter V6 paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission. EPA ratings are very good around 18 mpg in city and 25 mpg on the highway.

The exteriors of RX are sculpted and the curvy exterior is updated only slightly this year. The sports suspension package is very well enhanced to lure more male crowd. The interiors of RX are very good with comfortable seating, clean dash layout. The space usage is done very cleverly; design is clean and elegant with sharp controls. The remote touch navigation system is easy to use.

The Lexus RX 350 performs excellently well in government crash test and insurance industry tests .There are enhanced safety systems like vehicle stability control, traction control. The overall reliability of RX 350 is excellent and comes with a basic warranty comes in 4 years or 50000 miles.

Some of the features which goes against RX 350 are it is a tepid restyle, it is not for off roading and it also exhibits some body roll when cornering. The vehicle is no workhouse and is not ideal for mountain tracks with heavy loads. Hence the overall rating is 4.5/5

The Nissan Altima Hybrid car, similar like the Ford Escape Hybrid SUV, borrows Toyota's gasoline-electric hybrid system. Eventually, however, Nissan shall replace the Toyota hybrid drive with a proprietary hybrid drive. Currently, the Nissan Altima hybrid is available only in 8 states that consist of California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Essentially, the Altima hybrid will run on a QR25 2.5 liter with 4-cylinder engine, but should achieve the power and torque of a 6-cylinder engine while achieving the fuel efficiency of a 4-cylinder vehicle. Currently, the EPA rating shows the 198 horsepower Altima hybrid at 42 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. Some of new features in Altima include 16-inch alloy wheels, Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, power windows/door locks, 6-speaker AM/FM/CD system with auxiliary audio input jack, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS) and dual-zone automatic temperature control that includes an Altima Hybrid-specific electrically powered A/C that continues to provide cooling when the gasoline engine is stopped.

The federal state government has given the Altima Hybrid five out of five stars for protecting both driver and front passenger in a frontal-impact collision. The hybrid editions of these cars also have five stars for protecting the driver in a frontal-impact crash, and four for protecting rear-seat passengers. Standard safety equipment on the Altima Hybrid shows four-wheel antilock disc brakes, traction and electronic stability control. The Hyundai Sonata is a comfortable auto to sit in and drive. It has smooth acceleration, minimum outside noise, and all of the goodies you would like.
