The EPA ratings for Elise are 20 mpg for city and 26 mpg for highway which is quite good. The exteriors of Elise are not just bold and attractive, but they also enhance its performance capabilities. There is a convertible soft top whereas a removable hard top is also available. These are easy to install and very effective.

The Elise interiors are poor. They are below average but Lotus objects that Elise is engineered for speed and not for luxury. The seating is ok for 2 passengers, but is difficult for enter and exit. The cargo of Elise is not impressive as well. Elise is not fully safe. It is not yet crash tested and also has average visibility issues due to shallow backlight. Door mirrors are also small whereas traction control is optional. The reliability of Elise is good and offers a three year/36,000 mile basic warranty which is low as compared to its competitors.
